Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961) – Audrey Hepburn

Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961) gave Audrey Hepburn her most iconic image, as Holly Golightly, the New York party girl who breakfasts in front of Tiffany’s window.

Based on Truman Capote’s novella, the film follows Holly as she searches for a place to belong, with George Peppard as the writer who falls in love with her. Hepburn played Holly with a mixture of glamour and loneliness, and her performance of Moon River on a fire escape became a classic moment.

Holly Golightly remains a cultural touchstone, yet Hepburn’s performance is more than style. She showed the insecurity beneath Holly’s sparkle, and that depth is why the film endures.
