In a city where trust is under attack, Bruce Wayne needs a man he can rely on — Morgan Freeman, as Lucius Fox, is that man.
Released in 2008, The Dark Knight stars Christian Bale as Batman, and Freeman as Lucius Fox, the head of Wayne Enterprises’ research division, who designs Batman’s equipment and keeps his secret.
Freeman plays Fox with dry humour and absolute integrity. He is the voice of conscience in the film, questioning Batman’s methods even as he helps him, and his presence gives the story a moral anchor amid the chaos caused by the Joker.
It is a signature later-career role: Freeman as the trusted advisor, the man whose calm makes a superhero story feel grounded and real.
