Easter Parade (1948) – Judy Garland

Easter Parade (1948) paired Judy Garland with Fred Astaire, as Hannah Brown, a chorus girl who becomes a star in a New York musical.

The film, with songs by Irving Berlin, follows Hannah as she is discovered by a famous performer, played by Astaire, and rises from obscurity to the Easter Parade itself. Garland sang and danced with a joy that made the film a major hit.

Easter Parade remains one of Garland’s most popular musicals, a celebration of song, dance and the magic of Broadway. Hannah Brown’s journey from chorus line to stardom mirrored Garland’s own appeal.
