Dial M for Murder (1954) – Grace Kelly

As Margot Wendice, a wife whose husband plots her murder, Kelly was the cool centre of Alfred Hitchcock’s elegant thriller.

Dial M for Murder (1954) follows Tony Wendice, played by Ray Milland, as he blackmails a man into killing Margot, only for the plan to go wrong. Kelly plays Margot’s fear and resolve with great poise, and the film’s famous 3-D staging still feels intimate and tense.

It was the first of three films Kelly made with Hitchcock, and a perfect showcase for her Hitchcock blonde persona.
