Here’s Lucy (TV, 1968-1974) – Lucille Ball

This is a television work, not a film. Here’s Lucy was Lucille Ball’s third long-running television series, made with her own children.

Here’s Lucy was a television series that ran from 1968 to 1974 on CBS. Lucille Ball played Lucy Carter, a widow who worked for her brother-in-law, Harry Carter, played by Gale Gordon, at an employment agency in Los Angeles. Her real-life children, Lucie Arnaz and Desi Arnaz Jr., played her children, Kim and Craig Carter.

The series used the familiar Lucy formula: a well-meaning plan, a series of misunderstandings and a physical comedy climax, often with famous guest stars playing themselves. Ball’s second husband, Gary Morton, was the show’s producer.

Here’s Lucy was a popular success, and it kept Ball on television for a third decade, from the 1950s through the 1970s. It was her last long-running series, and it closed the main part of a television career that had begun with I Love Lucy in 1951.
