My Fair Lady (1964) – Audrey Hepburn

My Fair Lady (1964) gave Audrey Hepburn her most famous musical role, as Eliza Doolittle, a Cockney flower girl transformed by a phonetics professor into a lady.

Opposite Rex Harrison as Professor Henry Higgins, Hepburn played Eliza’s journey from the streets of London to the ballroom with charm and determination. The film, based on George Bernard Shaw’s Pygmalion, won the Academy Award for Best Picture.

Although Hepburn’s singing was dubbed by Marni Nixon, her performance as Eliza remains the heart of the film. Eliza’s wit, spirit and refusal to be treated as an experiment made the role unforgettable.
